Where It All Began
EduAvenues was created to provide the kind of guidance we wish we'd had as students. Growing up in Fairfax County, we earned admission to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), ranked at the time as the #1 high school in the United States.
Why didn't we know about this sooner?
For so many opportunities, we didn't even realize they existed until it felt too late.
The Problem We Saw
We were tech-savvy and resourceful, diving into online forums, admissions blogs, and articles—but much of the advice we found was contradictory or surface-level. Things like "Follow your passion" or "GPA doesn't matter."
Cookie-Cutter Prep Centers
Traditional centers used generic curriculums that couldn't keep pace with rapidly changing admissions landscapes.
Inflexible Schedules
For students juggling tournaments, extracurriculars, sports, and family—rigid, in-person schedules were simply unrealistic.
Overwhelmed Counselors
With 500 students per counselor, meetings were rare and often steered students toward safer, easier paths.
A Better Way
We knew there had to be a better way—something more flexible, more strategic, and designed for families who wanted real answers, not vague platitudes.
